Velour fabric
Care & cleaning:
Velour brings a touch of understated luxury to any interior. With their soft, plush texture and elegant matt sheen, these velvets add depth, warmth and quiet sophistication to your furniture.
For everyday care: Vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and keep the pile fresh. Avoid heavy rubbing or pressure when cleaning – velvet is delicate and prefers a gentle touch. Immediately wipe up any spills with a clean, absorbent cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap and test on an inconspicuous area first.
It’s perfectly normal for velour to show creases or shading where it’s been touched or sat on – this is called pile direction or pressure marks and is part of the fabric’s natural charm. A soft brush or gentle steam can help lift the pile and smooth the surface if desired.
Over time, cut pile develops a unique patina as the pile shifts and subtly changes tone in areas of heavy use. These natural variations make each piece unique.
