Care & cleaning of natural leather:
Natural leather brings unmatched depth, warmth, and tactile richness to upholstered furniture. Its surface tells a subtle story of craftsmanship and nature – full of character, breathable and beautifully responsive to its environment.
If you care for leather properly, it will become even more beautiful over time. Here are a few tips: If you notice dust, use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush once or twice a month. Once or twice a year, use the foam from soap flakes stirred in warm water for a thorough clean. Use a dry, soft cloth to apply the foam and avoid getting it wet. Avoid bar soap, saddle soap, leather cleaner, household detergents or chemical products. Protect the leather from direct sunlight, excessive heat and sharp objects.
Natural leather evolves with you. Over time it softens, deepens in tone and develops a soft patina that reflects how it’s been lived in and loved. Slight wrinkles, marks and changes in tone are not imperfections, but the essence of leather’s living beauty.
Care & cleaning of waxed leather:
Waxed Grain Cowhide is all about raw elegance and tactile depth. With a slightly rough surface enhanced by natural waxes, it offers a rich, matte finish that feels both grounded and luxurious. Each piece bears the natural variations of the hide – wrinkles, grain and subtle marks that celebrate authenticity.
For daily care: Wipe gently with a dry or damp soft cloth. Absorb spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth – avoid rubbing to prevent spreading. For stains and scuffs: Rub gently with your hand or a soft cloth; the wax finish often heals itself from minor scratches through heat and friction. Conditioning: Once or twice a year, use a leather wax or balm designed specifically for waxed finishes to restore suppleness and deepen tone. Avoid harsh cleaners, chemical sprays, soaking in water, direct sunlight or heat, which can dry out or discolour the leather, and sharp objects or abrasive rubbing, which can damage the surface.
Waxed leather ages like no other – developing a soulful patina that tells a story over time. The surface naturally darkens and becomes richer with use, while scuffs and creases soften into a lived-in texture full of depth.
